I take your point, and I would expect it to invalidate the warranty on the systems it connects to, IE. mirrors and central locking but not the whole of the electronics systems.
Otherwise where does that leave people that have fitted after market products like,
reversing sensors, ambient lights, led interior lights, different horns, upgraded speakers, fog lights on cars that did not have them, the list goes on.
Honda could pick on the simplest of modifications, just changing a bulb for an led for instance and say the warranty is void on the electrics or even the whole car if it suited them.
I would say that it should be down to the common sense of the dealer concerned, after all they get paid by Honda for the warranty work, why should they say the warranty is void and lose the work.
If my local dealer ever quibbles over my warranty and it looks as though I will have to pay I will simply take the car to another local independent garage that is a whole lot cheaper to have it fixed, and the dealership will have lost out on their warranty claim.
OK so will I but I accept that risk.
I used to work for a company that did warranty work for many electronics companies, and we had many, and I mean many, dubious warranty claims but we never questioned them, as we were paid by the manufacturers for warranty work so warranty work it was.
There is nothing wrong with pressing a button, until you forget and some sod in a car park breaks your mirror.
