If engineered correctly, the optimum speed to drive over speed bumps is actually 30mph. Assuming you're in a 30mph speed limit area. The slower you go, the more the car will go up and down. If you're going at 30 the suspension will take them in its stride.
Think about it. They're there because people go faster than the speed limit.
Try it sometime! Some people are scared of speed bumps but theres no need to be.
Now if they're NOT engineered correctly, you might also have a claim against the county council if you damage your car...
