I wrote my dealer yesterday to ask them what's about this recall letter.
So far, they didn't receive any complaints at all and they are unaware of any handbrake failures. If it should concern my car, Honda will send me a personal letter they say.
I"m glad however that I'm aware there could be a problem. I take care to put it in gear together with the handbrake when I'm parked before my house. Last week, one of my neighbors experienced a handbrake failure on his car. I heard passing cars honk their horn. When I looked out the window I saw his car in the middle of the street blocking all traffic. Luckily for him, he heard the horn also. My street isn't very well lit at night so one could easily have smashed into his car. Since then, I always put mine in first gear, just to be safe...
