Have you driven an MX5? No? Because if you had you'd realise it's the best sports car for less than £30k. The MX5 is the one of if not the best handling small roadster, OK an Elise (VX220) maybe quicker and more precise but push an Elise too far and it'll put you in a ditch.
As for performance it's not all about 0-60, give me a B road and I'll leave most cars this side of a Porsche Boxster for dead. Incidentally, the 2.0 sport MX5 has been 0-60 tested independently by 2 magazines both were sub seven seconds.
