Anthony, this thread is in the the Any non civic chat area which is aimed at speaking about pretty much anything. Whilst I am not attacking you or belittling your comment, may I suggest that if you don't like it then don't read it.
People have a right to express their views and to be honest this thread/post is actually a) quite factual and b) very moderate.
Whilst I don't live in the Uk any more I do keep in contact through people on here, friends and family and it sounds a little sad.
I was speaking to some Polish friends the other day who have friends in the Uk, and they were telling me that a lot of their polish friends are leaving the UK because they are not happy with life in the UK. Also with the exchange rate being so low it doesn't make it that economical to be in the UK any more. In my experience of the Poles they are hard-working, conscientious and efficient and would put many british people to shame with the amount of work they do. However, I do think that they have a tendency to believe that the UK's streets are paved in gold.
The government of the UK has sadly lost the plot, it isn't for the people any more and it has run out of steam. The tax rises are a joke and are not business friendly, normal people friendly or country friendly. They seem to have forgotten that they are supposed to be the 'party of the people'.
I guess our only option is to change the government and that is in the next couple of years - the only reasonable party is the Tory party and I will be giving them my support.
What ever we think - Britain needs a change.
