I would have loved to have seen what she or yourself for that matter would have said to hitting a stationary car that was in a line of traffic that hadn't moved for 3 mins? Or a car parked stationary in a car park....would you have said no it wasn't my fault the car started and reversed its way into my path

Try having the shoe on the other foot, if someone hit you and they were in the wrong you would expect them to admit liabilty and make things as hassle free as possible! Treat others as you expect to be treated....doesn't always work like that but there is karma
The fact is that insurance companies all say that you should never admit liability. This doesn't mean that in the case you mention you should try and get away with it and lie. All it means is you don't admit any liability for legal reasons. When you swap details and submit your version of the events, it will then be clear who is at fault and it all gets settled. If I ran into a stationary car, I would never directly admit fault but I would be ready to make sure that my details go to the other driver and that I receive their details. I would not be trying to get away with it or trying to blame anyone else, simply play it in a neutral fashion and let the insurance co.s or the police work it all out.
