Don't.. They are there to act as one-way valves to drain water and not to let dust in. Though it seems that some are not functioning well, there is always a remedy for it. Now and then, either squeeze the lips between your fingers and drain. Or, take the plug valves out and drain if water has collected inside.
But taking them out will result in accumulation of dust in the holes, which will result in clogged mud---eventually a bigger threat in terms of corrosion.
Mine are all working fine.. (knock wood)
