For me, I thought the GT spec was worth the extra £1000 (at the time I bought it, not sure if the difference is still that)

It all depends on whether you want or need the extra kit, but the view I took was that there were quite a few things included for the difference in cost, namely

Glass Roof
Cruise Control
Front Fog Lights
Auto Wipers
Auto Lights
Dual Zone Climate Control

I very seldom use the Dual Zone Climate Control, so wasn't bothered about it and the foglights I think I've used about 4/5 times in the last year (but they do improve the look of the front of the car, even if you're not using them)

The rest of the kit is useful, although probably not essential - although I would be loath to go back to a car now without cruise control.

Can't comment on whether the Blades are durable, as I stuck with the standard wheels - if you spec them at the time of ordering though, they would be covered by warranty for the same 3 years as the rest of the car.
