HFB I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say here but I don't agree with you from what I can understand.
There is more to it than a natural gift to drive, there is the experience of actual driving - situations, weather conditions, other drivers and speed. None of us can be 'natural' in reacting to situations unless we practice for them and train and that is what people are saying on here. It isn't a witchhunt nor a 'have a go at the young' issue, it is a known fact that young people NEED to gain experience.
If you take your point about people being 'naturally gifted at something' then why aren't there more young 25 year olds running large national companies? Why do we generally prefer to have an older Prime Minister?
Just because we have 'ability' doesn't mean we don't need to 'hone' that ability to improve our skill.
If the original poster has the money to spend on the insurance fantastic, that's their choice. And through owning a performance car they may learn to 'hone' their driving skills. On the other hand through hard experience of crashing the person may learn a good lesson also - so it works both ways.
