I understand your point and it isn't driver apathy that I am talking about, although you make a good point.
I still don't agree that younger drivers - on the whole - have enough experience to deal with a myriad of situations all at once. I personally know that the reactions I had ten years ago to driving have improved with age even though I am only 34 years old. My experience enables me to assess situations based on past experiences, enables me to judge speeds and dangers. I think that when you have a performance car you always want to push it that much further and 'see what it can do' - maybe a more experienced driver, maybe like yourself or others on here would be able to look at the situation in a different way and so on.
I do take your driver apathy point and it's one worth including in this discussion.
