You don't mention in this post (unlike in a previous post) that the accident was caused by another car whose insurance paid up for your car. Saying that would make it sound a little less sinister....
The strange feeling was most likely the
EBD or
VSA kicking in. The activation of the
EBD causes quite a thud and if you are not aware what it is, it can feel quite disconcerting as the car is slightly taking over control from the driver.
