I agree, in the current developed world there is no need for Trade Unions. Trade Unions came about because of slavery and under 10 year olds up chimneys for 18 hour days. This is hardly the case now.

The highest level of hypocracy is that the current govenment is funded and partly run by the unions.

Union bosses on the whole have their own selfish interests, not their members intersts at heart. Remember Scargill, he stared the miners strike with a large union and a small house and ended the strike with a large house and a small union. The miners blame Maggie for them being out of a job, perhaps they should have looked closer to home.

When overseas markets and manufacturing are getting stronger and stronger people have to be realistic and cost cutting is a necessary evil if any refining and industrial jobs are going to stay in this country.
