Failure mode and effects analysis. So I guess this must be the branch of engineering that FMEA works in?
Motive? That's my question. I just can't reconcile that FMEA would put this much effort into compiling the data - just to protect against
potential failure of 4 thousand odd cars where there has been no apparent reported failures.
FMEA you owe us an update I think because at the moment you're laying yourself open to allegations of being a Ford plant (that's plant as in spy not as in manufacturing facility BTW).
