Sorry, but the things unions are asking for like Final Salary Pensions are not available to joe public, like everyone else, if you don't like your job or conditions, vote with your feet, rather than using the public.
Back to my bunker now.

So what you are saying that managers have the right to treat people like s*it and to pay them peanuts. And if the worker doesn't like the way they are been treated, they have to leave, have the stress and worry of being unemployed whilst they try to to find another job.
And why should workers who have fought to keep Final Salary Pensions be demonised just because other workers in this country have said 'Yes please Mr. Boss, please take away my decent pension, and replace it with one that will pay out less when I retire, and by the way I don't mind working another 5 years to help pay for it'.

No it hasn't.
Union's were their own worst enemy at times, and they paid a very heavy price for the arrogance and ignorance they displayed back in the 1970's and 80's.
But should the mistakes of the past be always be associated with unions today. Unions were forced to make huge changes so that we can't just stop work at the drop of a hat.
I believe Honda in Swindon, Nissan in Sunderland and Toyota in Derby all have allowed unions to represent their employees. I would say that this means the attitudes on both sides have changed for the better.
