With mine being a N. Ireland registered car I was very limited in choice, it costs a fortune to have an English plate transferred over and takes quite a while, plus N. Ireland private plates cost quite a bit more than the equivalent mainland plates, the upside is they are alot rarer over here! I was quite surprised when I first came to Uni in Glasgow and saw that an awful lot of cars have private plates here!
In the end I managed to get a nice short N. Ireland plate at an auction, IKZ 87 with 87 being the year I was born
