The trouble is politicians in this country have it too easy, where's Guy Fawkes when you need him!
Mind you, the French have the right idea, the lorries bring the place to standstill when they strike. We Brits are too weak willed to stand up for our rights, we let the government walk all over us.
I'm surprised that the disabled like me and the OAP's aren't rounded up by the government and given something to put us to sleep, we are seen as being of no use whatsoever.

About five years ago the cauliflower farmers went on strike here in Brittany to protest about the low prices they were achieving for their fine produce. They took their tractors and trailers to strategic roundabouts and rail crossings and deposited tonnes of vegetables thus blocking the routes.
Two gendarmes were sent to sort out the strikers and get transport moving again, but they were kidnapped by the farmers and taken to a remote farmstead where they were fed on cauliflowers for several days. Eventually the sous-prefect got involved and secured the gendarmes release, only for them to be arrested by their colleagues for 'allowing themselves to be kidnapped'.
Price of diesel here is 1,28Euros/litre = £1.01/litre
Petrol is about 20cents more expensive!
Don't forget that these prices include the old road fund duty now abolished in France!
