Eddie - he can't be genuinely worried, because if he was he would have said something 2.5 years ago.
Honda have looked at it (agreed you could argue an inclination to err on the side of not doing anything), VOSA have looked at it, and both agree that there's no need to do anything (possibly for reasons that are not public, like satisfactory design calcs).
On a separate note, I work for a large company with a high public profile. The world is full of twisted individuals who see these large companies as cash rich and scared of bad publicity. We get these nutters trying to raise "legal" issues the whole time, all with a threat of publicity - and all trying to extort money out of the company. They never get anywhere.
