Nowadays BMW's, Mercs and Jags are affordable to most people who can afford to buy a top of the range Civic, meaning there are more of them on the road, making them less exclusive therfore meaning that the whole badge status has gone out the window!

So why do ceratin marques, Honda included with the new Accord, and more recently Kia keep trying to convince us that they are moving up in brand status stakes ? Is that because it's gone out of the window ?
