It's all a game at the dealership they would'nt usually offer a discount on a new car unless it was part of a Honda marketing promotion but they have a margin on a new car that they can discount if they want your business. When they gave you a price for your seat did you just say thanks and leave or did you say I was hoping for at least £12,500 If you said the latter they would they would nearly always up there offer on your car usually after disappearing to make an imaginary call to a different dealer who was not available before. It's nearly always the case that the first px figure is low, they are running a business. You just need to be one step ahead, if they won't increase there offer go for some extras on the Honda included in the price, this way you will know that they could have given you more for yours. If you get some extras thrown in then really they have given you more for yours. There is a finite amount of discount available in any deal but how you achieve it is up to you either more for your car or extras on the new one, if they really want your business you will get something I'm certain of that. Don't be afraid to stand your ground even be prepared to walk away it can be a great help, remember you can close a sale as well as a sales exec.
