Wheelbase Octavia 258 cm, Civic 262 cm = Civic 4 cm (1,57) longer.
Max. legroom front Octavia 112 cm, Civic 111 cm = Octavia 1 cm (0,39) longer.
Minimum legroom back Octavia 60 cm, Civic 72 cm = Civic 12 cm (4,72) longer.
Wideness front at shoulder height Octavia 130 cm, Civic 142 cm = Civic 12 cm (4,72) wider.
Wideness back at shoulder height Octavia 137 cm, Civic 136 cm = Octavia 1 cm (0,39) wider.
Height over front seat Octavia 100 cm, Civic 96 cm = Octavia 4 cm (1,57) higher.

So the cabin in the Octavia is only bigger, when it comes to height. Personally I dont miss those 4 cm as long as I can have my 186 cm in the front seat, and the tallest kid (my son) at 193 cm in the backseat behind me. But if you have small kids and needs the extra space in the boot, the Octavia could be a more practical choice.
