I did a similar install: First I replaced the four front speakers with a Polk DB-6501 system, run by the original HU.
That didn't work at all - the HU amp quality matches the quality of the original speakers
so in my ears the sound continued to be rubbish. It simply didn't manage to run the new speakers properly.
Then I installed a Rockford Fosgate amp in the lower boot - and everything got OK
.
I don't have any sub (yet...
) I want sound quality, not quantity.
