I've found out something "interesting". Notwithstanding I'm taking the car in next Tuesday, this might give the experts an insight as to what may be the cause.
Yesterday (may 7th)
18pm: stopped at my gf. Boot wouldn't open. Tried lock unlock a few times (about 10-15 attempts), but to no avail.
18.30 pm: again no luck.
+- 19 pm: drove home (it's a 35 min drive). Locked the car as usual.
19.40 pm: no dice.
+- 21 pm: boot opend up at the first try.
Today (I timed it to the minute here):
8.15 am: Left for work. Boot wouldn't open.
8.32 am: Arrived at work. Boot still sealed shut.
9.03 am: boot won't open
10.05 am: boot opens up!
11.04 am: still able to open the boot. Going for a 2 hour interval now.
13.03 pm: still good. Up to the three hour interval.
Well then, if the car is left alone for about an hour after I have driven and locked it, the boot opens up. Now, I'll be testing every hour whether it will open. Then every 2 hours...etc...
It seems that after some amount of time the lock becomes unreponsive again.
@vivid bluey, they did find out what is was eventually? Was it the switch or the boot mechanism itself? Oh, found it, the swith. Is that the same as the solenoid?
