You must be doing some amount of heavy braking pal..
Mine was serviced about 3 weeks ago with 21k miles. Stealers said pad wear was ok about 60% wear on front I think and 40% on the rears... but got the green tick..!
Still bites well when braking.
Some cars have wear clips which are attached to the pads. When the pads wear down to near done the clips should scream loudly off the discs preventing you getting to the metal 2 metal stage.. Not sure if the Civic has these thou.
Check these guy's out for brake shoes. Hopefully they should have these for the current civic now.
