When I had the problem it was a known fault and I had the latch assembly (part No. 7211OSMGE01) replaced. Ring Honda customer services for more information. In theory the car is not the road worthy with such a fault. Honda agreed and offered a hire car until resolved whilst I did not accept the offer it took a while to get the part.
Could you be so kind as to accurately describe the symptoms? I'm not quite sure what you mean by latch assembly (what is this?) but my boot seems to open fine when it wants to. If it is willing, I can open it 10-15 times without the smallest hamper. As I wrote above, it opened up all day long, unfortunately, I can't edit that post anymore to complete my listing.

To make the story complete: at 16 pm it still opened. At 16.27 pm ,I was at the bank, but the boot refused to open. When I got home about 2 hours later, it opened again. At 21 pm I went for the petrol station but the boot would not open when I left, nor when I got to the station. Normally, a hour of waiting would resolve this, but up to now I haven't been able to get it open...

So I believe that it may not be the latch (if the latch is the boot lock button), but more like an electrical fault, pushing me toward the microswitch theory. I don't want them messing in my boot and remove my driver's side panel.
