Front tyre wear
Hi,
This is my first post here.
I bought a new Honda Civic 1.8 ES with Michelin Pilot Sport 225 45ZR 17 91Y tyres last May and at the first service reported to the dealer that the sterring / suspension felt twitchy and pulled to the right. To my disbelief they reported the tyres were at 2mm and heavily worn on the inside and would need replacing soon - my responsibility!
I had only covered 6,500 miles in one year and my tyres need replacing - something is not right!!
They agreed that a recall was necessary to replace the 'bump stops' on the front suspension. They told me that the tracking was way out by 40 minutes. When I drove the car away from the dealers I noticed the front steering felt tight and creaked like a sinking ship. The technician came out and said drive for a while and it should settle and hpefully the noise will go away. The noise is still there and is booked in again for inspection.
Any similar experiences? Could it be the car setup can't cope with larger tyres? Would 205's be better?
Can any recommend a different brand of tyres to put on?
I'm fed up with the car and will probably part exchange soon any suggestions??
Thanks
