No way will diesel power become common place in the US

They have emissions standards in Tier 3/4 as tuff if not more so as Euro IV BUT

They have shocking fuel standards the diesel fuel in most states is a real rot gut brew that is used for railway locomotives. It has high sulphur (wont do the american spelling ) , low cetane, high aromatics and added filth.

What they call low sulphur diesel in the US would not be let on a forecourt over here.

Increasingly in many areas America is from Mars and Europe is from Venus
