Retro fit cruise control

Question for all the tech heads on Civinfo.

On one of my last cars (54 plate Leon Cupra R) I installed a golf tdi stalk added a wire into the ecu loom and after activation of the cruise function on a VAG 1394 tool, had cruise control.
This is a common upgrade for those that like to modify in the VAG community

My type S (none GT model) obviously does not have cruise.
Has anyone / does anyone know if it's been done.
Honestly, I did a search
Obviously the function is built into the ECU and I would presume that it is simply a case of 'switching on' at the dealers diagnostic machine once the appropriate stalk is plumbed in.

In the Leon it really was a 1 hour job with the biggest hassle being removal of the wheel (and that was straightforward)
