They need car back to remove dash for further investigation. After 3 trips to the dealer (the last one resulting in the car being away for 2 days and removal of dashboard again
), they have finally cured the rattle.
Its nothing to do with the dash / windscreen / loose harnesses or pipework. The rattle noise when the car hits above 40mph was down to a loose bolt supporting the heat shield on the underside of the car. The location of the shield made it sound as if the noise was coming from inside the dashboard area. They were on the verge of giving up looking when they decided to have a look under the car.
I now have a silent squeek / rattle free car.......oh joy!!!!!!
Hope this helps with anyone else experiencing a rattle noise but cannot find issue with dashboard.
