So is the dealer just assuming the clutch has gone due to the way you drive, hence no warranty claim ?. I don't see how he can rule out the possibility of a fault, oil leak at main bearing, or whatever.
Personally, I wouldn't let the dealer anywhere near the car, and certainly not at that price. I think I'd go to one of these clutch specialists, explain the situation and see if they will assess the problem while they do the job, with a view to taking further action. I'm sure they would be much cheaper and do a better job.
Firstly though, kick up a fuss with Honda CS.
