Well now, I've finally tested this as I could leave my car at friends. And it does the single knock thing on take off under following conditions:

Car in gear on flat ground. Handbrake NOT pulled up
+ 10° temps outside
Knock occurred at +- 17-18 km/hour.

This has been tested in order to rule out handbrake issues.
Because I'm currently in a dispute with the dealers I can't have it checked anytime soon. Has anyone been able to resolve the issue?

@relaxmax. Whether the car is in gear or not, is irrelevant to the issue. It's just to prevent the car from rolling away. You might as well lay a brick behind one of the wheels. Also note it only happens once on take off.
