New diesel engine is on the cards!

Hi guys,

So i was in Honda the other day having a butchers at the new accord.
Very nice if i do say, a vast improvement on the old model!

Anyway, so i was asking about the car, blah blah, and i asked why it's now called a dtec engine.

Basically they've introduced a new kind of air filter on the car, and the engine now produces 150ps on the Accord.

The 'inside information' that the guy gave me was that this more powerful engine will be finding it's way into the civic....
Didn't give any indication on timescales, but thought you'd be interested to know!

Watch this space!

Whilst the new diesel in the Civic would be good, I don't it'll happen anytime soon.
When Honda brought it out originally the tested it in a few models before letting it loose on the Civic. I can't see this one being any different IMO.

Eco display
Robbo,

I think MCH is saying that he suspects that the Civic is last to get any new diesels, i-DTEC included. Hence the Accord getting it first. I have no idea whether it will appear in the 09 car, only time will tell.

At some point the New Accord engine will make it across to the Civic and there is also a 100ps (vs current 83) Vtec 1.4 unit petrol unit coming.
