Only found it useful when there was an issue with the auto box and the car was hunting for the gear and kept itself in 5th gear instead of getting into 6th.

Suppose some people like to know what gear its in as they may think that they would be better using the i-Shift instead because they would be in a higher or lower gear than the auto box.

Not sure what the fabric in the standard Civics is like at the moment, but the stuff there looks very similar to the Type R which is a pain to keep clean cause you get stuff in all the little holes etc.

There is ALWAYS tweaks within the range every year. Last yeat it was things like the floor plan and the way the mats are anchored along with where the hight adjuster was locted under the steering wheel (had prev been at the side). Type R will be getting HIDs, reversing sensors that can be turned off and the Aux Socket so I believe and then there will be the Champ White which has not been confirmed if it will be limited edition of not yet as Honda want to see what th demand is like.

From October you always seem to get bigger bargains as its been the end of October/Start November that the next years models have been released so they need to shift the pervious years models and nice discounts help with that. Also depending on the demand for that car in that area also factors. Some dealers will offer little discounts as they have more demand for a certian car than some other dealers throught the country have and not everyone will use the web and shop around.

Useful info Angie thanks. Glad the changes are only minor, having just acquired a type-r, didn't want to find they'd made a load of changes in the space of a month or so !

Have ordered the (strictly speaking slightly naughty) Diamond Vision lights which are by all accounts as bright and bluey-white as HIDs, don't need reversing sensors at my age (!), and am not too worried about missing out on an aux socket, so on the whole don't think I'm missing much thankfully by not holding out another month.

Phew

One minor niggle would be the loss of the temperature gauge, its much easier to see the needle's progress up or down the gauge, rather than just a sudden warning of an overheating problem.

Perhaps the i-Shift style readout could have deen adapted to show the automatic gearboxes selection.

Mud (me I'm afraid, splashing around trying to find a good spot) and another bug.

The cars were immaculate, and there was a team of people cleaning and checking them all through the day. Engineers too! Nothing left to chance.

TBH I think they all look awful now, I certainly won't be buying an updated version, they look very cheap now (that grill on the S looks like something off a chavs corsa, that chrome band just looks soooo naff, and the 5dr gril just looks like you've crashed and tried to badly mend it yourself..........).

Picture 4 - the temp gauge is still there.

The I-Shift display is next to the mileage and the temperature readout in next to the rev counter

Ah right, yes, a bit naf that

Perhaps the temperature indicator changes colour (blue = cold, green = OK, orange = too hot, red = overheat)

BTW, if you put a 2008 Civic next to a 2009 Civic and removed the number plates, I wonder how many people would think that the 2008 model is actually the new improved version?

Hate to say it, but the facelift is terrible, the new grill is horrendous, did they design it blindfolded?

Unless Pottsy tells us that they have finally tuned the diesel engine to produce the sort of power it should, then the next car for me is not a Civic, based on those photos and my first impression (and all the problems I've had with mine).

Its a shame, all they had to do was improve very little on what they already had, build quality and a better choice of materials would of sufficed!
