I had a knocking over pot holes, 1st thing in the morning and sometimes as I turned the engine off.
I tracked it down to the rear exhaust rubber hanger.
I wouldn't have thought a rubber hanger could be suspect but such is the shape and rigid nature that it allowed the exhaust hanging bracket to effectively knock on the chassis hanger. The Rigid rubber was acting as a solid 'hard 'piece of rubber and the knock was transferring straight through.
I slid it off and carved the two inner parts of the rubber that were touching away.
Hey presto ...........knocking gone.
