The Civic has been replaced with a (second hand) BMW 335d auto Touring.

As I think I have posted here before I have had an X5 BMW before and have been pleased with it. Its not a fair comparison with the Civic as the prices, target market etc are quite different.

The 335d model brings back some of the effortless feel that I used to enjoy years ago when fuel was cheaper from Jaguar's lovely V12 engine, with still reasonable economy. So far it has done between 40 and 45 mpg - not bad for a high performance auto thats no lightweight.

Anyway, time will tell whether in the long run this BMW lives up to expectations (as did both my Hondas before the recently departed Civic).
