Must admit I tried that in a random bout of button pressing but it still didn't reset. I think it might be a case of having heavy shoes.
p.s. Nearly been caught out with this option when I first got the car. I slowed down from 70 to 50 and tried to demonstrate the cruise control to my mate. I gave myself and him a shock when i pressed the button and the car took off again
