I used Maidenhead Honda (propably 12 miles further down the A4 from Johnsons in Slough).
My First visit was to Clover Leaf Honda in Reading.
After waiting in reception for 10 mins with (seemingly) lots of staff milling about I was told they were short of staff that day and could I come back. I asked if I could come back on Sunday and they said they were very busy then too, had they got a brochure "No". Could I just have a look at a car "No - were too busy". Can I leave some details? They took my details down reluctantly on some scrap paper. They eventually phoned six days later when I happily told them I had ordered my Civic. I have since heard similar reports from a friend who wanted to buy a new Jazz.
I next tried Johnsons Honda in Slough (I work opposite). The salesman was OTT babbling with inane sales patter and to be honest I felt I knew more about the car than he did. Everything was possible, quick delivery, options, extras - till he checked the computer - it went downhill from there. They were not prepared to discount enough for my liking too.
My final visit was to Maidenhead Honda, which is actually the nearest to where I live in Henley, but also the smallest of the three dealerships and not part of a network of dealers. The service was excellent, made me and the wife feel important. Good knowledge of Civic. Clear delivery date that was adhered to. I just felt the service was very genuine. It was also nice to have all the finance, insurance, gap & servicing deals explained clearly. Managed to get a decent discount too on the list price, though I suspect the salesman going into the managers office to agree it is actually play acting lol. The flowers for the misses and full tank of fuel were an unexpected bonus.
Well that's my experiences anyway.
