I'm pleased to report that the new bulbs have been fitted (only took me 5 mins total) and the turn indicators are now a deeper colour amber with the same brightness. I liken the colour of the new bulbs installed to be an orange/amber whereas previously they were a yellow/amber. There does not appear to be any loss of brightness to the naked eye.
This deeper colour amber should compensate for the glare of the sun on the clear outer lens and make the turn signal more visible to following traffic.
Replacement bulb is the WY21W Philips Silver Vision Amber wedge bulb.
