Hi Guys,
Regarding my other post, I thought I'd share this and let everyone know it's not just a Honda thing, not bothering with your customers.........
Turned up Saturday morning as arranged to pick up my GF's 58 plate 5dr Toyota Aygo + in Chilli Red, when we got there it was sitting ready to go, however upon further inspection, the fuel tank was almost empty........ now it had on the paperwork, full tank of fuel included, so this was brought up, and fair do's the guy did admit they hadn't got round to filling it up...... not a great start but at least the car was there.
Next, off he went to fill up, now there is a petrol station, not five minutes from the dealership, even accountign for traffic and fill up time, he gone about 20 minutes + (obviously drove Africa, hijacked the ship supplying the oil and refined it himself.....), then we got the keys handed to us and a goodbye.......
Yep, no handover, no PDI, no bouquet of flowers, after all even a kiss would have been nice (usually get a kiss when I'm getting s****d), so out we went, I said nothing at this point and let it continue thinking that after 30 seconds of my GF and her dad looking bemused the guy would come out and explain things to us, now I had secretly read up on the Aygo (my GF thinks I'm boring, but it is handy), I knew most bits he could have told us about, but figured 7400 quid is enough money he should walk us through it, so off in I went and asked nicely, could you come out and go through the car with her please mate, to which I got the standard, "Oh Ok" look (the one I used to give as a sulky teenager when asked to tidy my room.......). His handover went through as such, this is the engine, this is the windscreen washer bottle, fill that up as it empties (NSS!!!! No S88t Sherlock to the unninitiated), theres your oil cap and dipstick, don't bother checking it, just wait for the warning light to come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point I 'butted in' and asked, "oh, you don't check it every time you fill uup with fuel", well you can said he, but it's not necessary......., then came the indside, with a wip round the controls that left even me bemused, and he was gone, like magic.....
Managed to catch him up and ask him if a first aid kit was included, and he asked why I would think that, and I said cos it's dispalyed in every one of your showroom vehicles...... thinking he would get the hint.... no luck. And can I purchase a glovebox lid.... they save money by not giving you one!!! Oh they don't do them anymore, which is strange as I checked my Toyota dealers list three days earlier and it was still avaliable..... and then came the best bit, they kept popping open so they got rid of them, I asked sneakily, so the Blue and Platinum don't have them then? Oh no they still get them........... Hang on, Toyota get rid of them cos they're crap, but keep them on the most expensive models??????????????? So you can surely still buy them as a part for that model? No answer and sudden need to go through a door marked employees only. Twonk. So Chichester Toyota (WKB), you are officially the worst car dealers I know

And it's a tough list to beat, cos I know some crabby ones.
And the moral of the story is...... buy a Honda and leave Toyota alone......
ATB,
Tom
I should however point out that the Aygo is a totally amazing car, and I would buy one over a jazz anyday........ we have so far managed fuel economy that a Diesel could not match, and a Hybrid would be blushing at..... 75.77mpg.. that is *******g amazing! And that is conservative, as it is worked out on half a tank, but in reality we have only used a third, so in actuality, it sohuld be nearer 100mpg, as we have covered around 250 miles on a third of a tank, which is a 30 litre tank, so 10 litres of fuel to go 250 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing. That means a tank will laste 750 miles!!!! Great. And such a responsive little engine when driven properly, the VVTI really makes a difference.
