Something has to be done, the congestion on our roads is terrible. But I don't think this is the answer.
Personally, I think we pay too much tax on fuel as it is, and those of us who earn a living on the roads will be hit too hard.
Part of me thinks road taxes could be put up more, with bigger polluters paying more than they already do. But what about those who don't do much driving, they won't like being charged more tax. And what good will generating more money actually do? Fill the pockets of government leaders?
I see it as we are in a stale-mate. There needs to be fewer cars on the road. But people won't give their cars up for public transport, because it is rubbish. Wat can be done?
