I have previously used and iTrip. I found around Manchester and the North that 87.9 was a good frequency, but last year when I was in France, going via Dover, this frequency was really crowded.
It also doesn't help that the Civic (and Accord) ariel is in the rear screen and does not appear to be as sensitive as the bee sting ariel with my previous Accord.

Hard wired to the cd changer is by far the best, but given my garages experiences, outlined above, I am a bit dubious at the moment.

Kensington also do a FM transmitter which has had very good reviews

which I might try if my iTrip is not that good in the Civic.
