Hi,

I am new to this site and have driven a friends 2.2 diesel a numberof times and very impressed with it and that is comparing itto my V/W Passat 1.9 TDi 130bhp and the Golf GT TDi 140 bhp. I think the Civic beats the Golf for just about everything including mid range power.

My friend is very impressed he has done almost 18,000 miles in his Civic driving school car since April & averaged 54 mpg!

We both test drove the i-shift last Sunday and although still a nice car, it is certainly no match for the 2.2 diesel and would agree with the comments already that it is better using stick for up/down shifts - gives a better fuel return this way too.
