i know what you mean, but the fog lamps are only used when the weather is cold and damp. when you are driving i cannot see much heat as the cold air will be cooling them. there is an air gap, so its not like it its stuck on to the lense itself. 99.9% of a fog lamps life its not even used but is 100% prone to stone chips due to being low, hence picking up damage from road debris.
i have use them for years and never had a problem. when i see the cost of these lamps it was time to make some for my self, as i dont want to waste £200 on a pair of fog lamps only for them to get broke again.
