Strange... I've got 25K on my original tyres (Pilot sports) and I'm only just down to 4.5mm at the front, and 5mm at the rear. I like to "make progress" when conditions allow

and will always take the country road if available. I have a couple of different driving qualifications above the normal uk licence and in the past I have been used to a fair bit of track driving here and there so know how to make tyres work without raggin them. But even so, 6.5k and tyres already shagged??? erm... WOW
I guess what I'm saying is that either I have a super special set of tyres/superhuman ability (yeah, right) or you guys need to either get your cars checked pronto or need to think about trying to drive a bit more smoothly.
Not dissing but I really don't understand how you can wear out a set of tyres in 6500miles when I can make mine last over 25000miles and I dont hang about when the conditions are right. The only car I've ever known eat tyres as quickly as yours was and Aussie HSV GTS owned by a guy I once knew. He could kill a set in about 8k.... but he had almost 700bhp and never used the traction control. I know of Ferrari owners who get more than 6k out of a set of driven tyres.
Ps. As for the un-even wear, also think of trying Micheldever tyres if your in the south, they have the best Geomety set up I've ever used. Their website appears to be in the process of a rebuild at the moment so heres thier contact info....
