I am far from smooth and I know my driving leaves a lot to be desired but I do know how to drive smooth when necessary and could definately make my tyres last further than what they have. But I am still surprised at how quickly they disappeared - tyre depot said 20K from PS2's - I'm lucky if I've had 10k with a rotation!!!!!

One thing I believe is responsible for the heavy wear is the EBA system. I know how to brake hard without going through tyres, however, the EBA applies the brakes much harder than I wan't and regularly implements the ABS when I know its not required for a smooth but hard stop!

The inner wear after admittedly a basic tracking check does also surprise me. Yes I know basic tracking checks are sometimes far from reliable but to cause as much wear as has happened - anythings possible!
If you know how to drive smooth why don't you?

I drive smooth and when being followed by a mate I always have to remember to drive to thier ability, not my own. Reason being is when you truely drive smooth you are actually erm.... "making more progress" than the guy following. Being smooth is all about getting your braking done before the corner so you can be back on the power gentle through it, never being in a position that you have to emergency brake (this means leaving that gap), always understanding the conditions and driving accordingly etc

Smooth & gentle=fast.
going fast & Braking hard=sloooooow.

Back to the tyre issue, I really think that a geometry check is in order, I am honestly shocked that some are managing to wear out front tyres in under 10k, let alone under 7k. Either there is something severely wrong with the geometry on your cars or you really really need to go on an advanced drving course of some sort.
Driving fast and ragged enough to destroy tyres in 6k on the public roads is pretty dangerous, thats why I think it just has to be a geometry based issue.
this is NOT a design flaw with the car and not a huge world wide problem, its only a few experiencing this so maybe there are a few "friday" build cars in this thread?.

ps. Ignore 350z tyres, or any other car for that matter. Nothing to do with a Civic and they have a completely different geometry setup (some cars have camber added for a sharper front end giving uneven tyre wear )
