3rd Honda, I think you need to keep your oil level near maximum so that when it happens again, you can rule out the oil level issue. To me, an out of range reading is not the same as a low level reading, it doesn't quite add up somehow. As you say, if the oil level falls, it warns you, you top up, end of story, no more warning.
