Actually, I'd hang fire anyway - the respray will cover the 'damage' (for want of a better word) that you are trying to claim for - which will make a further independant report (should it be required) very difficult

Honda UK made it quite clear that their paint experts did not find any problems with my paint and therefore will not cover the cost of repairs, I could get an independant paint expert but it will be costly and of course there is a chance my paint is ok and that it has been purely bad luck that I have gained so many scratches.
I did have the thickness of the paint checked independantly and it was adequate so the only question mark would be on the softness.
If I go ahead on Monday should I take photos of all the scratches for future reference?
