My car is a 1997 1.5i Civic, maybe doesn't belong in here but still a Honda so hopefully you can help. I have noticed that over the last few months it seems to take longer for the engine to start. Excuse my lack of terminology but I don't know how else to describe it: I turn the ignition and it makes the sound like it's trying to start for 2 -3 seconds before the engine finally comes to life. Sometimes it starts straight away, sometimes not. I don't think it's the cold because it used to start straight away even in the worst conditions, and it still does it now when it is not cold. Wondered if it was battery related, spark plugs, etc.? The spark plugs are only 6 months to a year old.
