As everyone is aware the trim on either side of the dashboard perspex is very open to scratches and looks a mess after a while. However I was at a dealer today and have noticed that the New Type R has a trim made from a rubberised material. It looks fantastic and will NOT scratch. I have since made a few phone calls and am trying to find out if this part will fit the normal civic. Its a real bug bear of mine that the trim is such an appaling material. However this new rubber finish on the Type R looks the part to solve this little bug bear.

I have found out through the parts department that it is £42.62 plus VAT, but they are unsure whether it is going to fit. It looks the same, the knobs are in the same position so I don't see any problems. However I am not splashing out on new trim before knowing if it fits. I have spoke with Honda UK and they are having to e-mail the factory to discover if the trim is going to be a perfect fit. However they did say this will take some time. My dealer is also onto the case and may have some findings to report.

Is anyone else aware of the rubberised trim on the new type R and has anyone else asked the same questions.

As and when I get some information I will let the forum know.
