I have used the Connects2 adapter which plugs into the cd changer port and converts it to an aux in. In the EX the CD changer port is already taken by a standard 14 pin connector with 3 wires attached that relay audio information to the factory fitted sat nav.
In order to connect the Connects2 this cable has to be unplugged hence why you lose the audio screen on the sat nav screen period!
I am guessing in the 1.4 with no sat nav the cd changer port is not taken up by anything when it leaves the factory unless you opted for a cd changer??
This bus cable that honda sell for 90 quid somehow allows you to connect the 3 wires I disconnected back to the sat nav hence giving you your track names for mp3 cd's etc. I know the Ipod will not send any info to the screen but I'm not too bothered about this and the official Honda one doesn't do this anyway, which is appalling to say how much it costs!!
What I am proposing to do next is to reconnect the 3 wires I removed to the connects2 connector (which has enough spare pin positions) to restore the sat nav audio screen. If the pin contacts are not detachable then a splice into the standard cable positions should do the trick.
I'll post here when I've worked it out, failing that looks like mr Honda will have my pants down for another £90!!
