First of all, let me say what a superb site this is. It really is the best source of information on the Civis by far. I have been sitting back and reading with interest all the great discussions, and now it's time to get more involved.

I think my 2.2 iCDTi is a great engine; punchy, smooth and quiet. This is also the conclusion of most road tests you see.

So, why are Fifth Gear making such a big deal about how noisy the engine is?
